A postmodernist film is a film that has self conscious use of themes from earlier films and other media.
The Lego movie is a postmodern film as it contains many different pieces of media within it such as batman,Lego, and a very similar storyline to the matrix.
In the Lego movie there is a wide range of ways to entertain each part of the target audience for in stance the kids who like Lego and their parents, the characters are most probably from films or Lego sets that the parents had bought or seen with their child. The young cinema goers would most likely be in the same group as the others. The narrative will appeal to the adults as it is incredibly similar to another older film, The Matrix. The cinema goers may enjoy the narrative as it is very simple and some of that group may also know references to other films. The themes throughout The Lego movie are suited to all of the target audience in a similar way as they all contain intertextual links. The setting is well suited to the children as it is entirely Lego, but later in the movie it more suits the adults as it become real world just like the matrix. To promote the Lego movie the producers used a TV ad break as a way of promotion as the sponsored brands had made a advert made out of Lego. There were posters of the different characters on their own and the actor who played them. Also there were toys made that were based off of the Lego movie.
Week 3:
The tv advertising campaign for the Lego movie was so successful as it had used the Lego advert break and that break came on mid way through a popular show. Synergy is the combination or cooperation of two or more companies. The Lego movie used synergy in marketing as all of the adverts that were made into Lego have cooperated with the Lego movie. A film company would release a video game to go with a movie so the player of the video games can be influenced to watch the Lego movie film and visa versa.
Week 4:
d1.ENTERTAINMENT:Offers distraction from the world e.g..lego movie game is enjoyable to play.
2.PERSONAL IDENTITY:Helps us consider who we are.
3.RELATIONSHIPS:We find things we can share and discuss.
4.INFORMATION:New information we want to know or take pleasure in knowing.
In the Lego movie cover there is a small hint of information about the main character the plot and the villain in the film/game as these are all inculded on the cover. The cover features the villain to be chasing Emmet who is also being chased by the police, this give a strong feeling of an action film/game which many player appeal to enjoy. all Of the point can become a basis of conversation within or without the game.
week 5:
The marketing campaign for the Lego movie exploits a range of different platforms such as print film media to construct an effective marketing campaign. It uses print media in marketing to get the adverts of the Lego movie available to parents and adults who are not into social media. However print media is not as effective as other types such as social media. Print media is very effective when it is used in busy places with lots of people noticing it. Social media advertising, which is a much more effective way of advertising as most people nowadays have some sort of social media as it is incredibly good at getting the 'word' around and is incredibly popular. Another type of e-media is the adverts that come on before a film this is effective as every person in that cinema would see that.
