Horror Poster Common Conventions

The colour pallets commonly used in horror film posters are black, red and white. (But other colours that are commonly used are blue/green and brown.)
Images are normally of the killer, victim or both.
The setting is normally at night or in a dark room.
The text is normally written in bold or a easy to spot font.
The titles use lexis from the semantic fields of horror films with language that includes blood and death.
Most posters have the murder weapon or an item that is associated ton the death of the victim.
Some posters use the pathetic fallacy of rain and at night time or with thunder and lightning.
