Evaluating my SFX make up. HW

Evaluating My SFX make up.
In my scar make up I think that when I was moulding the scar putty onto my arm I think I blended the putty to match my skin colour on my arm well which helped in making it look realistic. To me the most challenging part of applying the make up was to make the scar look natural, which was my weakest part of this task. Next time I need to improve on planning out what the cut will look like before I cut it. I am going to improve by using help from others in the class and by using other techniques that I can find out online.

Detailed Horror poster analysis. HW

Smiley:
The poster for the film called Smiley is very good at making the film look terrifying and spooky by using a series of dark colours in its colour pallet like black, red and white. The main image complements the colour pallet as the mask on the front is something you don't normally see on a person, and that the white and red of the stitches show danger and death.

The writing is in a bright red to make it stand out and show blood which could indicate death. Also the background image Is very normal, like at a wall in a spare room, not in a forest or a school as they are typical horror film settings.

The title of this horror movie poster -Smiley-  is very effective at giving a connotation of happiness but upon seeing this poster the thoughts of happiness will not be there anymore as the sight of an inhumane picture -the mask with a smile-  changes the emotions brought to the watchers.

Overall I think that this horror film poster is very effective at giving a scary effect before even watching the film.
